When we accidentally depleted all the batteries, what should we do?
EcoTrek batteries : safely shut off when 20% of the capacity left. The corresponding voltage would be around 12.4v.
AGM battery : different depend on the wiring.
1) discharged side inverter/solar : possibly keep enough voltage (12.4v) to activate the Balmar and easy to revive lithium battery
2) charge side wiring with inverter/solar : AGM also completely discharged and need additional procedure.
First step : Check if you can see the blue light when turn the EcoTrek on. Also check Balmar lights on when the ignition on. If you can see any Balmar message, your AGM battery is still alive!!
cf) What is the Balmar and where is it?
- Balmar is a voltage regulator between batteries and Underhood generator (A.K.A GU)
- You can find it in the driver side frame
cf) What I need to see with Balmar?
Any message in the LED screen.
I know my AGM is alive, what should I do?
- Congraturations! Your AGM battery is alive.
- H rev batteries : Run engine -> turn only one battery on -> hold reset up to 5min -> release reset button and see if the battery is started to being charged for 2min (with main panel voltage) -> repeat if needed
- L rev batteries : Start the engine or plug inverter into shore power and turn it on. Turn the battery switch on. Press the reset button for 3 seconds. This procedure may need to be repeated if the batteries are extremely low in power ( check V display )
My AGM is dead, what should I do?
: Two methods when your AGM is completely depleted.
Method one - using inverter and portable battery starter
Won't work if inverter wired to discharge side
Needed item : 12v battery starter
Procedure
1. Connect battery charger to your inverter : red to red, black to black
2. Start engine
3. Check Balmar. If you can see any Balmar message :
0) Remove battery charger
1) Turn on one EcoTrek
2) Wait 30sec
3) Press reset button for 20sec
4) If necessary, repeat 1,2 and 3
5) Charge EcoTrek until the voltage reaches to 12.8v
6) Swap battery and charge it.
7) If possible, connect shore power and charge both EcoTrek.
4. If you cannot see any Balmar message, keep charge your AGM with battery charger enough time then charge the EcoTrek
